Working along to the Spiraltable with iglu

“Sempervivum” is an artistic research project with a scientific background, focused on the golden ratio in nature according to the Fibonacci number, that resulted in a series of five artworks in three chapters. The title “Sempervivum” is named after the plants since the outset of the project was these specific plants. Writing the scientific name without italics helps to separate this work as art rather than science.
"Sempervivum"은 과학적 배경을 가진 예술 연구 프로젝트로 피보나치 수열에 따른 자연의 황금비율에 초점을 맞추고 3 장으로 5 개의 작품을 만들었다. “Sempervivum”이라는 제목은 이 프로젝트가 시작된 이래 선택된 특정 식물이기 때문에 식물의 이름을 따서 명명되었다. 작품이 과학이 아닌 예술로 분리 되기 때문에 이탤릭체로 쓰지 않았다.
This work consists of three chapters. The first functions as a foreword and is the video “Walking along to the Spiral table with Iglu, 2016”, a one channel work that documents the Mario Merz’s installation “Spiral table with Iglu” which is based on the Fibonacci number.
The moving images of this work gives the feeling of an endless flow in one continuous shot. This work has the key in a metaphorical way rather than a material sense of whole project. Not knowing the metaphorical sense gives disorientation to the viewer, as if one goes in to hypnosis while watching the flowing of the focus of the lens.
이 작업은 3 개의 챕터로 구성된다. 첫 번째는 싱글 채널 작업이며 “Iglu가 있는 나선 테이블로 걷기” 이다. 머리말로 사용되며 비디오는 피보나치 수열을 기반으로 만들어진 Mario Merz의 설치물인 “Iglu가있는 나선 테이블”을 다큐 형식으로 보여준다.
이 작품의 움직이는 이미지는 한 번의 연속 촬영으로 끝없는 흐름의 느낌을 준다. 이 작업은 전체 프로젝트에 대한 물질적 의미보다는 은유적인 방식으로 보여진다. 렌즈의 초점이 흐르는 것을 보면서 최면에 빠지는 것처럼 보는 사람에게 혼란을 준다.
나선형 테이블과 이글루를 따라 걷는 2016 풀HD_5분12초_2016
이 작업은 마리오 메르츠의 작품인 나선형 테이블과 이글루라는 작업을 도쿠멘트 형식으로 표현해 본 것이다. 기하햑 연구에서 시작된 시리즈물인데 연작이라고 볼 수 있는 이 작품은 피보나치 수열과 황금비율을 연구하던 때에 만난 작업이다. 마리오 메르츠라는 작가는 이탈리아에서의 미술 운동 아르테 포베라 운동에 참여 하였고 이글루가 있는 작업이 가장 대표적인데 피보나치 수열을 통해 우주의 세계를 표현하였고 이글루를 보면 생각나는 원시시대와 인류의 세계가 나선형으로 팽창하는 것을 은유적으로 보여준다. 나는 이 작업을 나만의 방식으로 촬영하고 싶었고 새로운 작업으로 은유적인 표현을 하고 싶었다. 이 영상을 계속보고 있으면 최면에 걸리는 것 같은 느낌을 주고 은유적인 접근 방식을 택하였다.
